Target Background

Function

Involved in the trafficking of vacuolar proteins. Functions probably as a sorting receptor for protein trafficking to the protein storage vacuole (PSV) by binding the C-terminal vacuolar sorting determinant (VSD) of vacuolar-sorted proteins.

Gene References into Functions

The promoter activities of AtRMR1 and AtRMR2 detected in transgenic A. thaliana lines suggest that the expression of these two receptors only partially overlap in some organs and tissues. These results suggest that AtRMR1 and 2 are not functionally redundant, but could also interact and participate in the same cellular process in tissues with an overlapping expression. PMID: 29241571
Data suggest that Arabidopsis thaliana receptor homology region transmembrane domain ring H2 motif protein (AtRMR1) functions as the sorting receptor of phaseolin for its trafficking to the protein storage vacuole [AtRMR1] PMID: 16115960
