Target Background

Function
TIR-NB-LRR receptor-like protein that confers resistance to the pathogen Hyaloperonospora arabidopsis. Probably acts as a NAD(+) hydrolase (NADase): in response to activation, catalyzes cleavage of NAD(+) into ADP-D-ribose (ADPR) and nicotinamide; NAD(+) cleavage triggering a defense system that promotes cell death.
Gene References into Functions
  1. In this study, we sought to functionally characterize the domains of RPP1 with regards to cell death induction following effector recognition PMID: 27427964
  2. inclusion of the RPP1-NdA ARC2 subdomain, from the central NB-ARC domain, was required for a full range of activation specificity. PMID: 25671309
