Function

Active in the repair of DNA damage and in mating-type switching. Probably involved in the repair of DNA double-strands breaks. Has a role in promoting S phase completion.

Gene References into Functions

rad54 and the RAD52 orthologs rad22A and rad22B are epistatic for the repair of double-strand breaks in DNA. PMID: 16009599
The most important function of Rad22 and Rti1 in S. pombe meiosis is repair of double-strand breaks with involvement of the sister chromatids. PMID: 18430957
