SYN3 expression from 35S promoter with Myc or FAST tag causes a reduction in SYN1 mRNA levels and results in alterations in sister chromatid cohesion, homologous chromosome synapsis and synaptonemal complex formation during male and female meiosis. PMID: 24656235
Downregulation of SYN3 results in defects in chromosome synapsis and condensation during male and female meiosis. PMID: 22381039
localizes primarily in the nucleolus of both meiotic and mitotic cells, essential for megagametogenesis and plays an important role in pollen PMID: 17488242
