Target Background

Function
Component of the exocyst complex involved in the docking of exocytic vesicles with fusion sites on the plasma membrane during regulated or polarized secretion. Involved in polarized cell growth and organ morphogenesis. During cytokinesis, involved in cell plate initiation, cell plate maturation and formation of new primary cell wall.

  1. In PRsec6 mutants, primary root growth was retarded, and lateral root initiation were compromised. Primary roots were sensitive to exogenous auxin 1-napthalene acetic acid but not 2,4-dichlorophenoxy. The results further demonstrated that the exocyst complex plays an important role in PIN protein recycling and polar auxin transport in Arabidopsis primary root. PMID: 27457987
