Target Background

Function
Has a role in spindle assembly and stability. Required to ensure a timely exit form mitosis. Essential to maintain pre-anaphase spindle polarity. Associates to the plus ends of the microtubules at the kinetochore and spindle midzone. A component of the FEAR (CDC14 Early Anaphase Release) network which promotes CDC14 release from the nucleolus during early anaphase. Required for proper chromosome segregation during meiosis I where it prevents premature sister chromatid separation.
