Target Background

Function

Serine/threonine-protein kinase receptor which binds TGF-beta-like ligands dbl-1 and perhaps daf-7. Upon ligand binding, probably activates a TGF-beta-like signaling pathway.

Results show that the intracellular trafficking of sma-6 is regulated by sma-10. PMID: 28704415
The intracellular domain of Caenorhabditis elegans BMP type I receptor SMA-6 (small-6) binds to the retromer complex, and in retromer mutants, SMA-6 is degraded because of its missorting to lysosomes. PMID: 24550286
