Target Background

Function
Involved in 5' and 3' splicing site selection of introns, and may bridge the 5' and 3' components of the spliceosome. Isoform 1 is required during flower petal development and isoform 2 is involved in root growth. Regulates negatively glucose and abscisic acid (ABA) signaling during early seedling development. Involved in the RNA-directed DNA methylation pathway. Modulates KIN10 stability in response to sugars, probably through the splicing regulation of 5PTASE13, a protein implicated in the proteasomal degradation of KIN10.
Gene References into Functions
  1. SR45 plays an unexpected role in mRNA processing of intronless genes, and numerous abscisic acid (ABA) signaling genes are targeted for regulation at the posttranscriptional level. PMID: 26603559
  2. SR45 is a negative regulator of sugar signaling during early seedling development and is involved in the repression of glucose-induced ABA accumulation and down-regulation of ABA biosynthesis PMID: 20699397
  3. Data show that the mobility of SR45 and SR1/SRp34 is dependent on ATP, phosphorylation and transcription. PMID: 16895966
  4. The generation of 6 variants of SR45 and their molecular characterization are reported. PMID: 17556373
  5. atSR45a proteins help to form the bridge between 5' and 3' splice sites in the spliceosome assembly. PMID: 19238562
  6. The two alternatively spliced isoforms of SR$% have distinct biological functions. PMID: 19403727
