Target Background

Function
General factor that plays a major role in the activation of eukaryotic genes transcribed by RNA polymerase II. Interacts with TBP2 and is required for activated transcription and possibly basal transcription. Plays important roles in pollen tube growth, guidance, and reception as well as endosperm development. Is partially functionally different from TFIIB2 and PBRP2.
