Target Background

Function
Part of the Tip60 chromatin-remodeling complex which is involved in DNA repair. Upon induction of DNA double-strand breaks, this complex acetylates phosphorylated H2AV in nucleosomes and exchanges it with unmodified H2AV. During wing development, required for activity of Notch and its coactivator mam. Function in promoting mam function is likely to involve both the Tip60 and SAGA complexes.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Nipped-A seems to be a superordinate regulator of intestinal stem cell (ISC) proliferation, possibly by coordinating different processes including modifying the chromatin landscape of ISCs and progenitors PMID: 28196804
Subcellular Location
Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Chromosome.
Protein Families
PI3/PI4-kinase family, TRA1 subfamily
Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitous.
