Target Background

Function
Thiol-disulfide oxidoreductase involved in the redox regulation of a number of cytosolic enzymes. Activates the cytosolic malate dehydrogenase (MDH) probably by reducing an interchain disulfide bond of the inactive MDH homodimer. Possesses insulin disulfide bonds reducing activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Crystallization and X-ray crystallographic analysis of recombinant Trx1 has been reported. PMID: 28695845
  2. Data indicate that thioredoxin h proteins are not required to prevent the spontaneous activation of S-locus receptor kinase (SRK) in the stigma. PMID: 24077073
  3. Redox regulation of AtCPK21 by Trx-h1 in Arabidopsis thaliana in response to external stimuli is important for appropriate cellular responses. PMID: 23615222
  4. Structral model of thioredoxin h1 from Arabidopsis thaliana in the oxidized state displays the conserved thioredoxin fold. PMID: 15987893
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm.
