Target Background

Function
Represses transcription by RNA polymerase II. Represses genes responsible for initiating filamentous growth such as HWP1, RBT1, RBT2, RBT4, RBT5, RBT7 and WAP1; and this repression is lifted under inducing environmental conditions. Represses also genes which participate in pathogenesis. Crucial component of the response to farnesol. Plays an important role in the regulation of white-opaque switching.
