Target Background

Function
Flavonol 3-O-glucosyltransferase that catalyzes the transfer of glucose from UDP-glucose to the 3-OH position of quercetin and kaempferol. Possesses high quercetin 3-O-glucosyltransferase activity in vitro. Catalyzes the glycosylation of anthocyanins from UDP-glucose. Also active in vitro on benzoates and benzoate derivatives.
Gene References into Functions
  1. ANL1 gene encodes UDP-glucose:flavonoid-3-O-glucosyltransferase and is expressed in all tissues examined, including rosette leaves, stems, flower buds and roots. Anthocyaninless1] [ANL1] PMID: 17277900
  2. Two putative glycosyltransferase genes (At5g17050 and At4g14090) induced by PAP1 expression were confirmed to encode flavonoid 3-O-glucosyltransferase and anthocyanin 5-O-glucosyltransferase, respectively. [flavonoid 3-O-glucosyltransferase] PMID: 15807784
