Target Background

Function

Probable E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase which mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Involved in the repression of endoreduplication process and the cell morphogenesis in the trichomes.

Gene References into Functions

Mutation in the gl3 locus negatively affects UPL3 expression, whereas overexpression of GL3 moderately upregulates it, suggesting the presence of a regulatory loop involving GL3 and UPL3. PMID: 23373825
