Target Background

Function
Essential for maintaining the architecture of the Golgi stacks and for normal organization of the transitional endoplasmic reticulum (tER). Required for both the formation of the Golgi stacks and the maintenance of the individual cisternae.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Physical interaction between p115 and Cdk1, suggests that p115 sequesters or re-localizes Cdk1 during mitosis to allow the complete activation of Cdk1 and consequently correct progression through mitosis in Drosophila imaginal cells. PMID: 28396045
  2. Depletion of p115 by RNAi in Drosophila S2 cells led to important morphological changes in the Golgi apparatus and the transitional ER. PMID: 12876273
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm. Golgi apparatus, Golgi stack. Golgi apparatus, Golgi stack membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Peripheral membrane protein.
Protein Families
