Target Background

Function
Folate-binding protein involved in regulating the level of ATP-DnaA and in the modification of some tRNAs. It is probably a key factor in regulatory networks that act via tRNA modification, such as initiation of chromosomal replication.
Gene References into Functions
  1. These data demonstrate a pivotal role of the conserved dodecapeptide KGC[Y/F]-x-GQE-x(3) -[R/K]motif's cysteine residue and a subsidiary one for the adjacent tyrosine for the function of YgfZ. PMID: 22092591
  2. Results show that the presence of ygfZ is not only critical for the E coli resistance to plumbagin but also facilitates the plumbagin degradation. PMID: 21059273
  3. three-dimensional structure suggests a folate-dependent regulatory protein involved in one-carbon metabolism PMID: 15489424
  4. results suggest that YgfZ is a key factor in regulatory networks that act via tRNA modification PMID: 16359333
