Target Background

Function

Required for efficient ubiquinone (coenzyme Q) biosynthesis under aerobic conditions. UbiK is probably an accessory factor of Ubi enzymes and facilitates ubiquinone biosynthesis by acting as an assembly factor, a targeting factor, or both. Dispensable for ubiquinone biosynthesis under anaerobiosis.
