Description

This human IL-32 ELISA kit employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique to measure the levels of human IL-32 in multiple samples, including serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It also uses the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to visualize and analyze the analyte levels through the color intensity. The intensity of the colored product is in direct proportion to the IL-32 levels in the sample and is measured at 450 nm through a microplate reader.

IL-32 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is identified as an immunoregulator that controls cell differentiation and cell death and is involved in the stimulation of anti−/pro-inflammatory cytokines. It is inducibly expressed in response to cellular stress such as hypoxia, infections, and pro-inflammatory cytokines. It plays a crucial role in host defense against pathogens, as well as in the pathogenesis of chronic inflammation. Aberrant IL-32 expression has been associated with several autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and type 1 diabetes, as well as allergic and infectious diseases, and cancer.
