 Q&A
Q:

I'm interested in trying this product for use on Atlantic Salmon as the over protein sequence homology is over 80% so may well work. Do you have any details on the specific peptide sequence it was raised to?

A:
Thanks for your inquiry!
The 24T size of kit CSB-EL002322HU is available.
This kit CSB-EL002322HU is developed based on the human matrix, specifically human atp1a1.
Coated anti: Mouse monoclonal antibody
Detect anti: Goat polyclonal antibody
Immunogen: NS0-derived recombinant protein
We do not detect the epitope mapping on the antibodies, so we don't know the recognition area.
Even if you refers to the homology of more than 80%, which is based on the protein-level structure of the comparison, but most of the protein in the high-level structure (spatial structure) exists.
Therefore, if the antibody recognition region is just in the homologous domain, in theory, it can be detected, but this relates to the matrix differences, it is not recommended to do the test across the species. So sorry that currently the kit special for fish ATP1A1 is unavailable.

Target Background

Function
(From Uniprot)
This is the catalytic component of the active enzyme, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of sodium and potassium ions across the plasma membrane. This action creates the electrochemical gradient of sodium and potassium ions, providing the energy for active transport of various nutrients.
