The product CSB-E09613h is a sandwich ELISA kit developed to measure concentrations of human adenosine deaminase (ADA) in serum, urine, or tissue homogenates. This assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique in combination with the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to quantify the analyte in the sample. The color develops positively to the amount of ADA in samples. The color intensity is measured at 450 nm via a microplate reader.
ADA is a central enzyme that mediates the conversion of adenosine into inosine, and deoxyadenosine into deoxyinosine in the purine catabolic pathway, which is important for many biological processes, including energy transfer, extra and intracellular signaling, and DNA formation. As a metabolic enzyme, ADA is ubiquitously expressed in various cells or tissues, including the lymphatic system. ADA is necessary for the proliferation and differentiation of T lymphocytes, and the maturation and function of monocytes and macrophages. ADA deficiency leads to cellular and humoral immunodeficiency, which manifests as severe combined immunodeficiency disease.
