Target Background

Function
Component of the tRNA-splicing ligase complex required to facilitate the enzymatic turnover of catalytic subunit RTCB. Together with DDX1, acts by facilitating the guanylylation of RTCB, a key intermediate step in tRNA ligation.
Gene References into Functions
  1. ARCH mutation is associated with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. PMID: 26648538
  2. RTCB, the catalytic subunit of the tRNA ligase complex, and its co-factor archease mediate XBP1 mRNA splicing both in vitro and in vivo. PMID: 25378478
  3. archease (also called ZBTB8OS), a protein of unknown function, is required for full activity of the human tRNA ligase complex and, in cooperation with DDX1, facilitates the formation of an RTCB-guanylate intermediate central to mammalian RNA ligation PMID: 24870230
