Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Acts as a non-catalytic accessory component of a dynein complex.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Genetic and biochemical analyses reveals that the Drosophila homolog of the LC8 dynein light chains (mammalian DYNLL1 and DYNLL2), called Cut up, binds proteasomes and functions specifically during their transport. These data support the model that Cut up functions to specify the dynein-mediated transport of neuronal proteasomes. PMID: 28808087
  2. Data suggest that Ctp may interact with a Hippo pathway protein(s) to exert inverse transcriptional effects on Yorkie-target genes. PMID: 26972460
  3. Size exclusion chromatography coupled with multiangle static light scattering demonstrates that LC8 dimers bind Ana2M sites and induce Ana2 tetramerization, yielding an Ana2M4-LC88 complex. PMID: 24920673
  4. Dynein light chain 1 functions in somatic cyst cells to regulate spermatogonial divisions in Drosophila PMID: 22355688
  5. these findings reveal that the centrosomal proteins Ana2 and Ctp regulate Mud function to orient the mitotic spindle during neuroblasts asymmetric division. PMID: 21920316
  6. LC8 binding promotes IC self-association of helix 1 from each of two IC chains, whereas LC7 binding reverses self-association by incorporating the same residues into two symmetrical, but distant, helices of the LC7-IC complex PMID: 20974845
  7. Data propose bicoid mRNA localization was done by Swallow indirectly organizing the cytoskeleton, whereas Staufen plays a direct role in dynein-dependent bicoid mRNA transport. PMID: 20023172
  8. Interactions of cytoplasmic dynein light chains Tctex-1 and LC8 with the intermediate chain IC74 PMID: 11914076
  9. DDLC1 interacts with the Dynein-Dynactin complex at the distal ends of spermatids to maintain the spectrin cytoskeleton assembly and cell growth. PMID: 15020714
  10. Egl interacts directly with dynein light chain, a microtubule motor component, through an Egl domain distinct from that which binds BicD; data provide a direct link between a molecule necessary for oocyte specification and the microtubule motor complex PMID: 15077115
  11. In addition to verifying binding and mapping interaction sites, the results demonstrate that Drosophila LC8 binding causes substantial changes in stability and quaternary structure of Drosophila protein swallow. PMID: 15078108
  12. the cytoplasmic Dynein-light-chain (DDLC1) which is the cargo-binding subunit of the Dynein motor protein, directly bound with high specificity and affinity to a 230-nucleotide region within the 3'UTR of gurken PMID: 17561283
  13. binding of LC8 to Swallow serves another function, possibly that of a dimerization engine, which is independent of its role in dynein PMID: 17570393
  14. Investigation by NMR ib the effects of a small perturbation by way of a single point mutation, S88A, on the structure, dynamics, and cargo binding efficacy of the DLC8. PMID: 18465876
  15. LC8 dimerization is required to bind to Pak1 and precludes phosphorylation of LC8 at Ser(88). PMID: 18650427
  16. Dynein-dynactin plays a role in excluding dendritic Dscam from axons by retrograde transport. PMID: 18946501
