Upon further investigation, it is evident that the uncharacterized protein YjjY (yjjY) is indeed found in E. coli and is reported to be flanked by the arcA gene and creD, which encode a colicin E2 tolerance protein and a protein of unknown function, respectively [1]. The relationship between arcA and yjjY is of interest, as they are divergently transcribed, and the reason behind their combined fitness phenotype is not clear [2].
