Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Capsid vertex-specific component that plays a role during viral DNA encapsidation, assuring correct genome cleavage and presumably stabilizing capsids that contain full-length viral genomes. Participates in the interaction between the capsid and the tegument through interaction with the large tegument protein/LTP. May mediate the capsid docking to the nuclear pore allowing entry of the viral genome into the host nucleus through binding to host nucleoporins NUP214.
Gene References into Functions
  1. These results demonstrate that the pUL25 capsid protein has a critical role in releasing viral DNA from nuclear pore complex-bound capsids. PMID: 28490590
  2. detailed analyses, including quantitative mass spectrometry of the protein composition of the capsids, revealed that both pUL17 and pUL25 are required to stabilize the capsid shells at the vertices. PMID: 28381566
  3. The data reveals that the loosely formed capsid structure is reinforced post-assembly by the minor capsid protein UL25 in HSV-1. PMID: 25053840
  4. Host C9orf9 promotes viral proliferation via interaction with HSV-1 UL25 protein. PMID: 21667337
  5. Residues 1 to 27 of UL25 contact the hexon adjacent to the penton. A second region, most likely centered on amino acids 26 to 39, contacts the triplex that is one removed from the penton. PMID: 21411517
  6. These findings reveal a new role for pUL25 in virion assembly, consistent with its flexible structure and location on the capsid. PMID: 20181717
  7. These results support the view that UL25 is present on incoming capsids with the capsid-binding domain of UL25 located on the surface of the mature DNA-containing capsid. PMID: 20109467
  8. These results suggest that UL17 is required for efficient incorporation of UL25 into B capsids. PMID: 16474120
  9. crystallographic structure of the region corresponding to amino acids 134 to 580 at 2.1-Angstroms resolution; structure reveals a novel fold, distinctive electrostatic distribution & a unique architecture in which flexible loops emanate from a stable core PMID: 16474137
  10. UL25 and UL17 are two essential minor capsid proteins of HSV-1, implicated in DNA packaging and capsid maturation PMID: 17531807
  11. The UL25 gene product of herpes simplex virus type 1 is involved in uncoating of the viral genome. PMID: 18448531
  12. amino acids 1 to 50 of UL25 are essential for its stable interaction with capsids and that the C terminus is essential for DNA packaging and the production of infectious virus through its interactions with other viral packaging or tegument proteins. PMID: 18945788
  13. pUL25 acts as an interface between the incoming capsid and the nuclear pore complex. PMID: 19386703
  14. the pU(L)17/pU(L)25 complex requires multiple viral proteins and functions for proper localization and biochemical behavior in the infected cell. PMID: 19812148
