Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Does not have 2'-5'-OAS activity, but can bind double-stranded RNA. The full-length protein displays antiviral activity against flaviviruses such as west Nile virus (WNV) via an alternative antiviral pathway independent of RNase L. The truncated form of the protein lacks antiviral activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Oas1b status as wild-type or truncated, and overall Oas1b gene dosage, link with novel innate immune gene signatures that impact specific biological pathways for the control of flavivirus infection and immunity through both Oas1b-dependent and independent processes. PMID: 28592649
  2. These data indicate that the different susceptibility to the antiviral activity of Oas1b resulted in a difference in neurovirulence in the two tick-borne encephalitis virus strains. PMID: 23266832
  3. Oas1b is part of a complex located in the ER and that ABCF3 is a component of the Flv(r)-mediated resistance mechanism. PMID: 22623793
  4. Activation of Oas1b gene expression by type I IFN requires only STAT2, not STAT1. PMID: 22305621
  5. Oas1b inhibits flavivirus replication by an alternative mechanism that overrides the proviral effect of reducing 2-5A accumulation and RNase L activation. PMID: 21056894
  6. A positional cloning strategy was used to identify 22 genes from the Flv gene interval including 10 members of the 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase gene family. PMID: 12080145
  7. A nonsense mutation in the gene is associated with West Nile virus susceptibility in laboratory mice PMID: 12186974
  8. Oas1b represents an antiviral pathway that exerts its inhibitory effect on West Nile virus replication by preventing viral RNA accumulation inside infected cells PMID: 16371364
  9. Knock-in of the Oas1b resistance allele into a susceptible mouse strain produced mice with the flavivirus resistance phenotype, confirming that this phenotype is mediated by a single gene. PMID: 17904183
  10. Oas1b mice show resistance to the infection of West Nile virus but not of influenza virus. PMID: 19827744
