Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Subunit of ATP-sensitive potassium channels (KATP). Can form cardiac and smooth muscle-type KATP channels with KCNJ11. KCNJ11 forms the channel pore while ABCC9 is required for activation and regulation.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Cardiac SUR2A levels were significantly increased while Kir6.2 levels were not affected. Hypoxia did not induce phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK1/2) or protein kinase B (Akt), but triggered phosphorylation of AMP activated protein kinase (AMPK). AICAR, an activator of AMPK, increased the level of SUR2A in H9c2 cells. We conclude that oxygen increases SUR2A level by activating AMPK. PMID: 28121062
  2. K(ATP) channels seem to play an essential role in murine myometrial motility via activation of SUR2B and Kir6.2 PMID: 27086859
  3. Data show that PI3K/Akt signalling pathway and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) play a crucial role in increase of cardiac ATP-binding cassette transporter sub-family C member 9 (SUR2A) induced by in vivo exposure to 18% oxygen. PMID: 25576887
  4. Sulfhydration of SUR2B subunit modifies tyrosine nitration of Kir6.1 subunit within the KATP channel complex. PMID: 25552582
  5. ATP-sensitive potassium currents from channels formed by Kir6 and a modified cardiac mitochondrial SUR2 variant PMID: 24037327
  6. In the absence of Abcc9, the newborn heart fails to transition normally from fetal to mature myocardial metabolism. PMID: 24648545
  7. Native K(ATP) channels in mouse vas deferens myocytes are a heterocomplex of K(IR)6.1 channels and SUR2B subunits. PMID: 24117345
  8. Report unique properties of the ATP-sensitive potassium channel in the mouse ventricular cardiac conduction system. PMID: 21984445
  9. Results suggest that oral nicotinamide is a regulator of SUR2A expression and has a potential as a drug that can improve physical endurance in conditions where this effect would be desirable. PMID: 20731746
  10. Cardioprotection observed in the SUR2m mice is associated with a protected mitochondrial phenotype resulting from enhanced K(+) conductance that partially dissipated mitochondrial membrane potential. PMID: 20935152
  11. Our present study reinforces a role for the full-length SUR2 protein in cardioprotection. PMID: 20656890
  12. Transgenic mice with a sole increase in SUR2A expression had also increased cardiac resistance to ischaemia-reperfusion. PMID: 20083200
  13. results imply that specific activation domains stimulate transcription by binding to distinct Mediator subunits; activation by E1A and Elk-1 requires recruitment of Mediator to a promoter by binding to its Sur2 subunit [sur2] PMID: 11934987
  14. The intermittent coronary artery vasospasm seen in Sur2(-/-) mice provides a model for the human disorder Prinzmetal variant angina and demonstrates that the SUR2 K(ATP) channel is a critical regulator of episodic vasomotor activity. PMID: 12122112
  15. Kir 6.1 gene expression was upregulated by almost 22-fold, whereas SUR2B was downregulated by threefold after inflammation. Decreased motility of colon during inflammation may be associated with changes in transcriptional regulation of Kir 6.1 and SUR2B. PMID: 14962845
  16. The dimerization induces the opening of the KATP channel, probably by causing a conformational change of SUR2x. PMID: 15258252
  17. results support the hypothesis that the mouse adenovirus type 1 (MAV-1) E1A-mSur2 interaction is important in MAV-1 replication in mice PMID: 15731221
  18. PGE(2) alters pacemaker currents by activating the ATP-dependent K(+) channels comprised of K(ir) 6.2-SUR 2B in interstitial cells of Cajal. PMID: 17167224
  19. Mice lacking sulfonylurea receptor 2 (SUR2) ATP-sensitive potassium channels are resistant to acute cardiovascular stress. PMID: 17765261
  20. These results indicate that different K(ATP) compositions may co-exist in cardiac sarcolemmal membrane. PMID: 18001767
  21. The assembly of nucleotide binding domains NBD1 and NBD2 provides a molecular substrate that determines the optimal catalytic activity in SUR2A, establishing a paradigm for the structure-function relationship within the KATP channel complex. PMID: 18311911
  22. SUR2 and Kir6.1 mRNAs were found to be the most abundant in ventricular fibroblasts. PMID: 19166858
  23. Report impaired exercise tolerance and skeletal muscle myopathy in sulfonylurea receptor-2 mutant mice. PMID: 19675276
  24. We identify a novel SUR2 IES variant in cardiac mitochondria and provide evidence that the variant-based channel can form an ATP-sensitive conductance and may contribute to cardioprotection PMID: 19797704
