Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Modulates negatively TGFB1 signaling in keratinocytes.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Results indicate that CD109 deficiency induces a high-turnover, osteoporosis-like phenotype, which suggests that CD109 plays a role in bone metabolism in vivo. PMID: 29767469
  2. CD109 deficiency suppresses skin tumorigenesis by enhancing TGF-beta/Smad/Nrf2 pathway activity and decreasing the mutation frequency of the H-ras gene. PMID: 27756876
  3. High expression of CD109 in brain tumor stem cells is involved in glioma progression. PMID: 28888050
  4. platelet and endothelial GARP are not important in hemostasis and thrombosis in mice PMID: 28278197
  5. Small-scale in vivo screening identified several genes, including Cd109, that encode novel pro-metastatic factors. We uncovered signaling mediated by Janus kinases (Jaks) and the transcription factor Stat3 as a critical, pharmacologically targetable effector of CD109-driven lung cancer metastasis PMID: 28191885
  6. CD109 differentially regulates TGF-beta-induced ALK1-Smad1/5 versus ALK5-Smad2/3 pathways, leading to decreased extracellular matrix production in the skin; epidermal CD109 expression regulates dermal function through a paracrine mechanism PMID: 27866969
  7. the GARP/LTGF-beta1 complex on Treg cells is a major source of TGF-beta1 needed for induction of pTreg cells during the process of oral tolerance. PMID: 27062243
  8. GP96 serves as an essential chaperone for the cell-surface protein glycoprotein A repetitions predominant (GARP), which is a docking receptor for latent membrane-associated TGF-beta (mLTGF-beta). PMID: 25607841
  9. CD109 decreases extracellular matrix production and fibrotic responses during hypoxic wound healing PMID: 24815824
  10. CD109 is present in serum as a soluble form, and suggest its potential as a novel tumor marker in patients with cancers that express CD109. PMID: 24400073
  11. CD109 might be an important regulator of osteoclastogenesis. PMID: 23593435
  12. findings demonstrate that CD109 overexpression in the epidermis reduces inflammation and granulation tissue area and improves collagen organization in vivo. PMID: 23438099
  13. Induction of both Th17-producing cells and Tregs is caused preferentially by Tregs expressing the latent TGF-beta1/GARP complex on their cell surface rather than by secreted latent TGF-beta1. PMID: 23645881
  14. CD109 overexpression ameliorates skin fibrosis in a mouse model of bleomycin-induced scleroderma. PMID: 23436317
  15. CD109 regulates differentiation of keratinocytes via a signaling pathway involving Stat3. PMID: 22846721
