Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Transcription factor which binds the E box motif 5'-CA[TC][AG]TG-3'. Involved in regulating energy expenditure, body mass, voluntary physical activity, mating behavior and reproductive longevity, acting through the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Acts as a transcriptional activator of target genes, including Ndn and Pcsk1. May act centrally to regulate function of both white and brown adipose tissue. Together with NHLH1, required to maintain migration and survival of cells in the anterior extramural migration stream (aes), which forms the precerebellar nuclei. Also, in concert with Nhlh1, may determine fate of gonadotropin releasing hormone-1 (GnRH-1) neurons.
Gene References into Functions
  1. suggested that the expression levels of Lmo3 and/or Hen2 could determine the fate of stem cells by inhibiting Hes1 function during nervous system development and might be a trigger of aberrant neurogenesis in vivo PMID: 26156403
  2. We found that loss of Nscl-2 results in aberrant migration of gonadotropin releasing hormone neurons in Nscl-2 mutant mice causing a lineage switch of ectopically located gonadotropin releasing hormone neurons PMID: 23785158
  3. Nhlh2 in the central control of adipocyte function PMID: 20808804
  4. Nhlh2 transcription factor has a role in controlling genes important to energy expenditure, and more specifically voluntary physical activity of animals PMID: 12419415
  5. Regulation of body weight is linked to action of neuronal Nhlh2 on prohormone convertase mRNA levels. Direct role for transcriptional control of neuropeptide processing enzymes in etiology of adult-onset obesity. PMID: 14701669
  6. N2KO mice (with targeted deletion of Nhlh2)have fewer pregnancies, abnormal estrus cycles, and release fewer oocytes as they age. N2KO females show at least a 50% reduction in hormone-stimulated sexual behavior as measured by their lordosis quotient. PMID: 15465527
  7. Nhlh2 plays a role in the development and functional maintenance of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis PMID: 17717072
  8. Coordinated control of PC1/3 transcription by Nhlh2 and STAT3 after leptin stimulation. PMID: 18356286
  9. transcriptional activity by Nhlh2 promotes either the motivation or the ability to exercise. Loss of Nhlh2 through either directed mutation (N2KO mice) or spontaneous mutationsleads to reduced physical activity and body weight gain PMID: 18815487
  10. the reduction of the innervation and vascularization of white adipose tissue in Nscl-2 mutant mice leads to the increase of preadipocyte/macrophage-like cells, a bimodal distribution of the size of adipocytes PMID: 19436734
