Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Involved in cell adhesion and synaptogegesis. Has some neurite outgrowth-promoting activity. Receptor for alphaherpesvirus (HSV-1, HSV-2 and pseudorabies virus) entry into cells.
Gene References into Functions
  1. finding suggests that necroptosis is responsible for GalN/LPS-induced liver injury through DAMP-activated PRR signaling. PMID: 28752362
  2. Nectin-1 promotes chlamydial infection in the female genital tract but does not appear to contribute to rectal infection in male mice. PMID: 27486990
  3. nectin-1 regulates the neuronal activities in the CA3 region of the hippocampus. PMID: 26663531
  4. Novel type of cell adhesion apparatus is mediated by Nectin-1 and Nectin-4. It's implicated in prolactin receptor signaling for mammary gland development. PMID: 26757815
  5. The synergistic action of nectins generates mosaic pattern, which cannot be achieved by a single mechanism. PMID: 26929452
  6. These results indicate that the nectin-1 spots regulate the branching of mitral cell dendrites in the deep sub-lamina of the EPL and suggest that the nectin-1 spots are required for odor information processing in the olfactory bulb. PMID: 26169026
  7. Results indicate that the nectin-1 spots constitute a novel adhesion apparatus that tethers mitral cell dendrites in a dendritic meshwork structure of the developing mouse olfactory bulb PMID: 25967681
  8. results demonstrate a role for both nectin-1 and HVEM as receptors and suggest a further receptor which appears much less efficient. PMID: 26136572
  9. In summary, herpes simplex virus 1 entry into epidermis was shown to strongly depend on the presence of nectin-1, but the restricted presence of HVEM can potentially replace nectin-1 as a receptor. PMID: 25320325
  10. This study demonstrated that nectin1- and nectin3-mediated interactions between Cajal-Retzius cells cells and migrating neurons are critical for radial migration PMID: 23931996
  11. PRR1 nectin-1 plays a role in the formation of intimal thickening after carotid artery ligation. PMID: 23539219
  12. Nectin-1-specific entry of herpes simplex virus 1 is sufficient for infection of the cornea and viral spread to the trigeminal ganglia. PMID: 23213272
  13. These results suggest that differences in nectin-1 and HVEM receptor expression between adults and newborns may partially explain differences in susceptibility to herpes simplex 2. PMID: 23097453
  14. Loss of presenilin 1/gamma-secretase activity delays processing of nectin-1 and causes accumulation of its full-length and carboxyl-terminal fragments. PMID: 21910732
  15. The authors report that either HVEM or nectin-1 must be present for HSV-1 infection of the cornea. PMID: 21795335
  16. hair cells and supporting cells express nectin-1 and -3, respectively; their interaction mediates the heterotypic adhesion between these 2 cell types; nectin-1 and -3 promote the formation of the checkerboard-like pattern of the auditory epithelia PMID: 21798896
  17. Results suggest that heterophilic interaction between nectin-1 and nectin-3 recruits desmosomal junctions, and that these are required for proper enamel formation. PMID: 21038445
  18. Nectins asymmetrically localize at puncta adherentia junctions and at synaptic junctions. Inhibition of the nectin-based adhesion by an inhibitor of nectin results in a decrease in synapse size and a concomitant increase in synapse number. PMID: 11827984
  19. Nectin-1alpha is an immunoglobulin-like receptor involved in the formation of synapses and is a substrate for presenilin/gamma-secretase-like intramembrane proteolytic activity PMID: 12376527

  24. regulation of E-cadherin-based adhesion involving cellular nectin-1 trans-interacting with nectin-3 is qualitatively different from that involving cellular nectin-3 trans-interacting with nectin-1 and depends on the nectin levels expressed by cells PMID: 15550395
