Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Filament-forming cytoskeletal GTPase (Probable). Plays an important role in male fertility and sperm motility. During spermiogenesis, essential for the establishment of the annulus (a fibrous ring structure connecting the midpiece and the principal piece of the sperm flagellum) which is a requisite for the structural and mechanical integrity of the sperm. Involved in the migration of cortical neurons and the formation of neuron leading processes during embryonic development.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Adenovirus-Sept4 can attenuate the development of liver fibrosis induced by S. japonicum through apoptosis. PMID: 26190030
  2. The inhibition of the expression of the SEPT4 by praziquantel might be due to alleviation of the inflammatory response at the chronic and advanced stage of S. japonicum infection. PMID: 25582427
  3. The hypothetical pathogenicity by the chronic overload of SEPT4 alone, if any, is insufficient to trigger neurodegenerative process in the mouse brain. PMID: 23938054
  4. Sept4/ARTS(-/-) mice display marked improvement in wound healing and regeneration of hair follicles. PMID: 23788729
  5. Identification of a novel anti-apoptotic E3 ubiquitin ligase that ubiquitinates antagonists of inhibitor of apoptosis proteins SMAC, HtrA2, and ARTS. PMID: 23479728
  6. Sept4 and alpha-SMA may interact together in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). Sept4 seems to be involved in the formation of inflammatory granulomata and subsequent liver fibrosis by regulating HSCs activation. PMID: 21679490
  7. ARTS (Septin 4) promotes apoptosis mainly through binding and antagonizing XIAP. PMID: 21695558
  8. Loss of Sept4 is associated with myofibroblastic transformation of hepatic stellate cells and results in liver fibrosis. PMID: 21763422
  9. Findings suggest that Sept4-null mice develop malignancies due to increased resistance of their HSPCs to apoptosis. PMID: 20952537
  10. These results suggest that Sept14 is involved in neuronal migration in cerebral cortex via interaction with Sept4. PMID: 20181826
  11. On Sept4(-/-) sperm, domain confinement was lost, and basigin localized over the entire plasma membrane. PMID: 20042538
  12. M-Septin is a novel mitochondrial septin that interacts with CRMP/CRAM in developing neurons. PMID: 12581152
  13. Cortical organization based on circular assembly of the septin cytoskeleton is essential for the structural and mechanical integrity of mammalian spermatozoa. PMID: 15737930
  14. Sept4 proteins play distinct but evolutionarily conserved functions in different cellular compartments. PMID: 15737931
  15. hepatic stellate cell-specific septin subunit Sept4 and perhaps the septin system are involved in the suppressive modulation of myofibroblastic transformation and fibrogenesis associated with liver diseases PMID: 18804890
  16. The interaction of DNAJB13 with SEPT4 in vitro and its spatiotemporal association with the annulus during sperm flagellum development suggest that DNAJB13 may be involved in assembling the annulus structure. PMID: 19298648
