Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
G-protein coupled receptor for glutamate. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors. Signaling inhibits adenylate cyclase activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Results show that group III mGluRs negatively modulate TRPA1 activity on cutaneous nociceptors. Furthermore, it is likely that this modulation occurs intracellularly at the level of the cAMP/PKA pathway. This study demonstrates that group III agonists may be effective in the treatment of mechanical hypersensitivity which can develop as a result of inflammation, nerve injury, chemotherapy and other disease states. PMID: 27497709
  2. Findings from the present study showed that trigeminal neurons express mGluR1alpha, mGluR2/3 and mGluR8, while SGCs only express mGluR1alpha and mGluR8. PMID: 24495291
  3. These results suggest that stimulation of mGluR8 inhibits thermoceptive responses and mechanical allodynia. PMID: 24304862
  4. These data suggest that mGluR7 in the nucleus tractus solitarius display an inhibitory effect, while mGluR8 displays a facilitatory effect in modulating cardiac nociception PMID: 22617702
  5. In conclusion, our data identify a mode of presynaptic inhibition which allows mGluR8 to profoundly inhibit vesicle fusion. PMID: 21903594
  6. Selective activation of mGluR8 with L(+)-2-amino-4-phosphnobytyric acid decreased the probability of glutamate release from the mossy fiber terminals synapsing onto stratum lacunosum-moleculare interneurons. PMID: 20824730
  7. SUMO E3 ligases are expressed in the retina and regulate SUMOylation of the metabotropic glutamate receptor 8b. PMID: 21288202
  8. mGlur8 may be involved in shaping synaptic transmission in the medulla oblongata. PMID: 12443992
  9. mGluR8 immunoreactivity was localized to the membrane of nerve cell bodies that received glutamatergic input. mGluR8 agonists increase motility by inhibiting nitrergic relaxation and possibly by facilitating cholinergic contractions. PMID: 12829438
  10. Pias1 binds to and sumoylates metabotropic glutamate receptor 8 PMID: 16144832
  11. Results describe the role of metabotropic glutamate-8 receptor (mGluR8) gene expression in cerebellum during epilepsy and neuroprotective role of Bacopa monnieri extract in epilepsy. PMID: 17940877
  12. These data demonstrate a positive response of mGluR8 in mRNA abundance in most forebrain regions to repeated stimulant exposure. PMID: 18255232
