Image	Overlay Peak curve showing THP-1 cells stained with CSB-RA271151A0HU (red line) at 1:100. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde and permeated by 0.2% TritonX-100 for 10min. Then 10% normal goat serum to block non-specific protein-protein interactions followed by the antibody (1ug/110⁶cells) for 45min at 4℃. The secondary antibody used was FITC-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1/200 dilution for 35min at 4℃.Control antibody (green line) was Rabbit IgG (1ug/110⁶cells) used under the same conditions. Acquisition of >10,000 events was performed.

Target Background

Function

Transcriptional repressor. Binds with MAX to form a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein complex which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. Antagonizes MYC transcriptional activity by competing for MAX and suppresses MYC dependent cell transformation.

The results suggest that MXD3 is important for survival of Reh preB ALL cells, possibly as an anti-apoptotic factor. PMID: 25554682
Acute MXD3 activation results in a transient increase in DAOY cell proliferation while persistent activation of MXD3 results in an overall decrease in cell number, suggesting that the time course of MXD3 expression dictates the cellular outcome. PMID: 25053245
Increased level and/or duration of MXD3 expression ultimately reduces cell numbers via increased cell death and cell cycle arrest in medulloblastoma cells. PMID: 22808009
