PCNA (Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen) is a conserved cofactor of DNA polymerase δ and a central scaffold protein in the eukaryotic replisome. Beyond its canonical role in DNA replication and repair, PCNA serves as a widely used reference protein in cell proliferation assays and, depending on the experimental context, as a loading control for normalization — particularly in studies comparing proliferating versus quiescent cell populations.
This mouse PCNA monoclonal antibody (IgG1 isotype) is raised against a PCNA fusion protein via hybridoma technology and purified by Protein G affinity chromatography, achieving >95% purity. It is validated for ELISA application, with consistent batch performance suitable for detecting PCNA in relevant sample types.
As a loading control/proliferation marker antibody, it supports researchers in normalizing expression data where housekeeping genes like β-Actin or GAPDH may not be optimal and provides a reliable readout in cell cycle and DNA damage response studies. It is also well suited for screening proliferation phenotypes across treatment conditions in cancer biology, stem cell, and toxicology workflows.
