Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Diet-induced hyperhomocysteinemia enhanced myoendothelial feedback, and increased Cx37 and IK1 expression may contribute. nNOS or iNOS did not upregulate to compensate for decreased eNOS, and they had little involvement in vasomotor function. PMID: 28857417
  2. The presence of Cx37 in the media layer of injured arteries restrains vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and limits the development of intimal hyperplasia, presumably by interfering with the pro-proliferative effect of Cx43 and the Akt pathway. PMID: 28449099
  3. altered profile of the bone matrix components in Cx37-deficient mice acts in favor of higher resistance to fracture in long bones. PMID: 28096061
  4. NO controls the calcium signal propagation through Cx37-containing gap junctions. The tyrosine phosphatase SHP-2 is the essential mediator and NO target. PMID: 29025706
  5. Cx37 deletion increased the size of atherosclerotic lesions in oscillatory shear stress regions and abrogated the development of a stable plaque phenotype under OSS in ApoE(-/-) mice PMID: 26342936
  6. Cx37 is more markedly involved in basal NO release, release of cyclooxygenase products and the regulation of the sensitivity for Acetylcholine as compared to Cx40. PMID: 26198171
  7. The data suggest that the P2Y2/4 receptor activation elicits blood pressure responses via distinct mechanisms involving KCa3.1 and Cx37. PMID: 25545736
  8. Endothelial connexin 40, but not connexin 37, is implicated in resistance of the heart to ischaemia/reperfusion injury by activation of the CD73 pathway PMID: 24639196
  9. Cx37 is required for osteoclast differentiation and fusion, and its absence leads to arrested osteoclast maturation and high bone mass in mice. PMID: 24509854
  10. Cx37, a protein involved in cell-cell communication, is one of only a few proteins identified so far as critical for the development or maintenance of venous valves. PMID: 23142761
  11. The effect of shear stress on Cx37 expression may contribute to the synchronization of ECs and participate in the protective effect of HLSS. PMID: 22659288
  12. We report the presence of connexins in platelets, notably connexin37, and that the formation of gap junctions within platelet thrombi is required for the control of clot retraction. PMID: 22528526
  13. Cx40 is required for, and cx37 limits, postischemic hindlimb perfusion, survival and recovery. PMID: 21986401
  14. Results are consistent with Cx37 exerting a growth-suppressive effect in the vasculature that limits embryonic vasculogenesis as well as arteriogenic and angiogenic responses to ischemic injury in the adult animal. PMID: 21856908
  15. We propose that the establishment of gap junctional communication between Cx37-expressing platelets provides a mechanism to limit thrombus propensity. PMID: 21810657
  16. Renal epithelia express Cx37 in their basolateral membranes. PMID: 19828678
  17. Cx40-deficient endothelial cells upregulate and redistribute Cx37 as a molecular adaptation to the lack of Cx40 PMID: 12011587
  18. endothelial gap junction protein connexin 37 and connexin 40-mediated communication in the development and/or functional maintenance of segments of the mouse vasculature. PMID: 12435353
  19. Cx37 and Cx40 are the only functional connexins expressed in mouse aortic endothelium and are collectively crucial for endothelial communication and are codependent on each other for optimal expression in vascular endothelium PMID: 12697838
  20. Cx37 and Cx40 are collectively critical for endothelial communication and provide evidence of an important role for gap junctions in vascular development. PMID: 14681045
  21. Recent large Japanese case-control studies identified connexin-37 (GJA-4), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), and stromelysin-1 (MMP-3) polymorphisms as risk factors for myocardial infarction. PMID: 15234427
  22. Localization and expression of Cx37 in ovarian mouse follicles of different developmental stages. PMID: 15836950
  23. Mouse oocytes must express connexin37 for communication with granulosa cells, a requirement for oogenesis. PMID: 16254245
  24. Connexin 37 profoundly slows cell cycle progression in rat insulinoma cells. PMID: 18753315
  25. Dissection of two Cx37-independent conducted vasodilator mechanisms by deletion of Cx40: electrotonic versus regenerative conduction. PMID: 18790841
  26. These data determine temporal gene expression of Cx37 in oocytes from follicules at different stages and indicate that the gene expression level of Cx37 in oocytes could be evaluated as a criterion to the regulatory mechanism of Cx37 in an in vitro model. PMID: 19222873
  27. we suggest that Cx37 deficiency alters the global differential gene expression profiles in young mice towards a pro-inflammatory phenotype, which are then further influenced in advanced atherosclerosis. PMID: 19345950
  28. We conclude that nitric oxide-induced reduction of electrical coupling between microvascular endothelial cells depends on Cx37 PMID: 19429814
  29. Cx37 is not essential for normal development and function of renin-producing cells PMID: 19672618
