Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Moderately selective excitatory receptor for orexin-A and, with a lower affinity, for orexin-B neuropeptide. Triggers an increase in cytoplasmic Ca(2+) levels in response to orexin-A binding.
Gene References into Functions
  1. OX1R expression is associated with a strong specific immunomodulatory effect of orexin-A via OX1R and down-regulation of the pro-inflammatory cytokine production and secretion, as shown in two murine models recapitulating either the acute or chronic phase of ulcerative colitis. PMID: 30251681
  2. Investigated the role of orexin receptors in compulsive-like alcohol drinking, found that systemic administration of the selective OX1R blocker SB-334867 reduced compulsive-like consumption. Results suggest that OX1R signaling is particularly important for promoting compulsive-like alcohol drinking, and that OX1Rs might represent a novel therapy to counteract compulsive aspects of human alcohol use disorders. PMID: 27523303
  3. OXA and OX1R are expressed in the testis and that they may help in proliferation and development of germ cells, Leydig cells and Sertoli cells, and in the spermatogenic process and steroidogenesis. PMID: 27174745
  4. Results thus suggest that type 1 diabetes mellitus impairs testicular steroidogenesis and glucose homeostasis through inhibition of orexin A/OX1R signaling cascade due to decreased OX1R expression in adult mice, thereby affecting germ cell survival and their proliferation in the testis. PMID: 28690152
  5. Binding of OXA to OX1R is important for the development of the testis. PMID: 26562300
  6. Study demonstrated that activation of the OX1 receptor in the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray of mice can initiate an endocannabinoid-CB1 receptor-mediated analgesia. Activation of the OX2 receptor in the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray was also antinociceptive but this antinociceptive effect is CB1 receptor-independent. PMID: 26907809
  7. Elevation levels of OX1R and OX2R following experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis induction suggest that alteration in orexinergic system may involve in pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis. PMID: 26996108
  8. Study provides pharmacological and molecular evidence indicating, respectively, a role for OXR1 signaling in ethanol and saccharin binge-like drinking PMID: 25827928
  9. orexin activation of OX1R in the bone locally suppresses bone formation and enhances bone resorption by lowering osseous ghrelin expression. PMID: 24794976
  10. findings demonstrate that Hcrtr-1 modulates the reinforcing properties of cannabinoids. PMID: 23896204
  11. The transcripts for the Orx1 and Orx2 receptors diverged in the basolateral amygdala with Orx1 increasing and Orx2 decreasing in animals that were susceptible to the chronic defeat. PMID: 24485472
  12. more severe depressive behavior was associated with reduced hippocampal orexin expression, contrasted with increased orexin plus Orx1 receptor mRNA expression in the amygdala. PMID: 23398442
  13. data demonstrate that hypocretin signaling acting on Hcrtr-1 in the PVN plays a crucial role in the expression of nicotine withdrawal. PMID: 21831361
  14. Dynlt1 modulates orexin signaling by regulating OX1R PMID: 22028875
  15. results indicate that hcrtr1 and 2 signaling oppose one another in the regulation of depression-like behaviors. PMID: 21377495
  16. These results suggest that orexin and its receptor may play roles in traumatic brain injury, and that OX1R is induced in neurons and microglial cells after traumatic brain injury. PMID: 20803175
  17. These data suggest that activation of the Ox1r is a necessary component of food-reinforced responding, motivation, or both in normal mice PMID: 20189166
  18. loss of the 5-HTT function produces impaired sleep modulations by stress related to an enhanced hypocretinergic neurotransmission, as the sleep response to stress in 5-HTT-/- mutant mice could be normalized by blocking the hypocretin type 1 receptor PMID: 20007481
  19. We measured hcrtR1 and hcrtR2 expression in the frontal cortex and pons using the RT-PCR method in murine models, in canine models and in humans. PMID: 18714784
