Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Is an adhesion molecule necessary for normal myelination in the peripheral nervous system. It mediates adhesion between adjacent myelin wraps and ultimately drives myelin compaction.
Gene References into Functions
  1. that phylogenetic emergence of L-MPZ in amphibians may be related to particular distribution and/or function in the PNS myelin PMID: 29081003
  2. steady-state levels of insulin receptor mRNA increase during development and after postnatal day 10, when the peak of myelin structural gene (P0) expression occurs, increasing further in parallel with the growth of the myelin sheath PMID: 22564491
  3. L-MPZ, a novel isoform of myelin P0, is produced by stop codon readthrough. PMID: 22457349
  4. The P0 in sciatic nerve of rats could be destroyed by 2,5-hexanedione and P0 expression level decreased with the time of 2,5-hexanedione administration. PMID: 20568451
  5. a rare myelin protein zero (MPZ) variant alters enhancer activity in vitro and in vivo PMID: 21179557
  6. These results provided interesting experimental evidence for understanding the mechanism of demyelinating neuropathies caused by MPZ gene malfunction. PMID: 20552241
  7. Data show that the removal of circulating androgens by orchidectomy induces a significant decrease of the synthesis of glycoprotein Po and peripheral myelin protein 22 in the rat sciatic nerve. PMID: 15207917
  8. Data show that steroid receptor coactivator-1 (SRC-1) overexpressing cells are more responsive to Po mRNA induction by dihydroprogesterone (DHP) than SRC-1-deficient cells, and that DHP treatment increases not only Po but also SRC-1 mRNA levels. PMID: 15456935
  9. Our results suggest that this loss of adhesion may be due, at least in part, to a failure of sufficient MPZ to reach the cell surface and that this impaired trafficking is associated with deficient serine phosphorylation in the cytoplasmic domain. PMID: 16493674
  10. Myelin protein zero (P0) contains a hierarchy of targeting signals which may contribute to P0 localization in myelinating Schwann cells and disease pathogenesis. PMID: 16788992
  11. neuropathy-associated Egr2 mutants antagonize binding of Sox10 at specific sites, thereby disrupting genetic control of the myelination program PMID: 17325040
