Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
High affinity receptor for urotensin-2 and urotensin-2B. The activity of this receptor is mediated by a G-protein that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Expression of GPR14 was increased at mRNA and protein levels in brain from cerebral ischemia rats. PMID: 24878476
  2. Key transmembrane domain 1 and 2 residues were identified in urotensin-II receptor (UT) that participate in the formation of the UT receptor binding pocket. PMID: 25175740
  3. The dynamic changes of urotensin II receptor in pulmonary arterioles might have an important contribution to the development of pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary arteriole remodeling induced by chronic hypoxia-hypercapnia in rats. PMID: 21180151
  4. we report a specific nuclear/perinuclear expression of the U-II receptor in the rat heart, which upon activation by U-II or URP results in different modulatory effects on transcription PMID: 22044114
  5. presence of functional nuclear UT in various rat and monkey tissues as well as in human cell lines PMID: 22245063
  6. Blockade of the urotensin II receptor improved hypoxia-induced cardiac hypertrophy. PMID: 20870804
  7. In rat brain, areas of high, medium, and low expression of urotein II receptor include the arcuate, paraventricular, and pedunculopontine tegmental nuclei, respectively PMID: 20422157
  8. These results suggest that the U-II and urotensin II receptor play an important role in the diabetic angiopathy especially in the large artery and maybe imply a new way to prevent the injury of artery in diabetes type 2 PMID: 19906507
  9. Results indicate that position 6 of urotensin-II normally occupied by phenylalanine would interact with Met(184) and/or Met(185) of the fourth transmembrane domain of the urotensin-II receptor (GPR14). PMID: 12495432
  10. cellular localization of GPR14 receptor protein and a positive inotropic effect of urotensin II in normal rat heart. PMID: 15273242
  11. the UT receptor (urotensin II receptor) undergoes internalization, and specific serine residues of the receptor's cytoplasmic tail participate in this process PMID: 15458389
  12. Urotensin II-related peptide is the endogenous and functional ligand for urotensin II receptor in the rat (REVIEW) PMID: 15476951
  13. analysis of urotensin-II binding sites in Sprague-Dawley rat renal medulla PMID: 16290260
  14. Taken together, these data demonstrate that rat astrocytes express high- and low-affinity UII binding sites coupled to G proteins, the high-affinity receptor exhibiting the same pharmacological and functional characteristics as UT. PMID: 16942596
  15. These results suggest that urotensin II-related peptide is the endogenous and functional ligand for the urotensin II receptor GPR14 in the rat and mouse, and possibly in the human. PMID: 17628210
  16. REsults describe the differential expression of urotensin II receptors in cardiovascular tissues from rats and humans and suggest that it may account for the diverse vascular actions reported for urotensin-II. PMID: 17905478
  17. Results compare the ability of urotensin II-related peptide (URP) analogs to compete for [125 I]URP binding and to modulate cytosolic calcium concentration in cultured rat astrocytes. PMID: 18082287
  18. Urotensin II receptor expression is significantly enhanced in the myocardium of rats with diabetes in both mRNA and protein levels. PMID: 18280445

  20. This study highlights the major contribution of the conserved Asp(2.50) residue to the functionality of the UT receptor. PMID: 18509066
  21. UII and UT mRNA expression were greater in the renal medulla than the cortex of SHR AND WKY rats; however, expression levels were up to threefold higher in SHR tissue PMID: 18701623
