Target Background

Function

Catalyzes both phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine biosynthesis from CDP-choline and CDP-ethanolamine, respectively. Has a higher cholinephosphotransferase activity than ethanolaminephosphotransferase activity.

AAPT1 and AAPT2 are essential to plant vegetative growth and reproduction and have overlapping functions but that AAPT1 contributes more than AAPT2 to phosphatidylcholine (PC) production in vegetative tissues. PMID: 25944098
