Description

The Bifunctional beta-D-glucosidase/beta-D-fucosidase polyclonal antibody is generated by immunizing a rabbit with a recombinant Bifidobacterium breve Bifunctional beta-D-glucosidase/beta-D-fucosidase protein segment (253-460aa). The collected rabbit serum contains polyclonal antibodies, which are purified using affinity chromatography. The functionality of the Bifunctional beta-D-glucosidase/beta-D-fucosidase antibody is assessed through ELISA and WB assays, verifying its ability to detect the Bifidobacterium breve Bifunctional beta-D-glucosidase/beta-D-fucosidase protein in experimental settings.

The bifunctional beta-D-glucosidase/beta-D-fucosidase protein from Bifidobacterium breve is an enzyme with dual activities, catalyzing the hydrolysis of beta-D-glucosidic and beta-D-fucosidic bonds. It is involved in the digestion of complex carbohydrates, particularly those containing glucosidic and fucosidic linkages. It is likely to contribute to the breakdown of complex carbohydrates present in the gut, releasing glucose and fucose as products.

Target Background

Function
Bifunctional beta-D-glucosidase/beta-D-fucosidase. Activity towards pNP-beta-D-fucoside is about 80-85% of the activity towards pNP-beta-D-glucoside. Also has slight activity (less than 10%) towards pNP-beta-D-galactoside, and very low activity (less than 1%) towards pNP-beta-D-xyloside. Hydrolyzes laminaribiose, sophorose, cellobiose and gentobiose. Not active against maltose, pNP-alpha-D-glucoside or pNP-beta-L-fucoside.
