Description

The BRO1 polyclonal antibody is yielded by introducing recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana BRO1 protein into a rabbit, stimulating the production of antibodies targeting this antigen. A booster injection enhances antibody production, and the resulting BRO1 polyclonal antibodies in the rabbit's serum are collected and purified using protein A/G. Extensive testing in ELISA and WB assays has confirmed the BRO1 antibody's specific recognition of Arabidopsis thaliana BRO1 protein.

Arabidopsis thaliana BRO1 is crucial for the correct sorting, trafficking, and degradation of proteins within plant cells, ultimately contributing to cellular homeostasis and the overall health and functionality of the plant.

Target Background

Function
Class E VPS protein involved in concentration and sorting of cargo proteins of the multivesicular body (MVB) for incorporation into intralumenal vesicles. Fusion between endosomes and the vacuole will then target the cargo proteins to the vacuolar lumen (Probable). Associates with FREE1 and ELC to perform function in the ESCRT-I complex. Binds ubiquitin in vitro. Plays a role in the biogenesis of vacuole and multivesicular bodies (MVBs). Required for the endosomal location of AMSH3. Mediates high-affinity phosphate transporter trafficking to maintain phosphate homeostasis. Regulates vacuolar degradation of PHT1-1.
Gene References into Functions
  1. ALIX (AT1G15130) is a major player in membrane protein processing through the plant endomembrane system and in vacuolar biogenesis.ALIX mediates high-affinity phosphate transporter trafficking to maintain phosphate homeostasis. PMID: 26342016
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm. Late endosome. Endosome, multivesicular body.
