Description

The Barstar (Ribonuclease inhibitor) polyclonal antibody can be generated by immunizing a rabbit with the recombinant Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Barstar (Ribonuclease inhibitor) protein (2-90aa). Following immunization, the Barstar (Ribonuclease inhibitor) antibody is collected from the rabbit serum and purified using protein G. This purified Barstar (Ribonuclease inhibitor) antibody is specifically designed for detecting the Barstar (Ribonuclease inhibitor) protein of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens in ELISA and WB applications.

The Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Barstar protein specifically binds to and inhibits the activity of barnase, which is an RNase produced by the same bacterium. This protein-protein interaction prevents barnase from degrading RNA molecules, allowing the bacterium to regulate gene expression and protect its own RNA from degradation.

Target Background

Function
Inhibitor of the ribonuclease barnase. Forms a one-to-one non-covalent complex.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The polarization of interprotein hydrogen bonds impacts both the static (electronic) and dynamic interprotein electrostatic interactions and significantly lowers the free energy of the barnase-barstar complex. PMID: 22495971
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm.
