Target Background

Function
Molecular chaperone that interact with a ClpP-like protease involved in degradation of denatured proteins in the chloroplast. The ATPase activity of CLPD is stimulated by CLPT1. Has no ADPase activity. Interacts with transit peptides with a positional preference. Localization of the signal sequence at the N-terminal end of a protein seems mandatory for interaction to take place.
