Description

The recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana CAMTA6 protein (56-205aa) is employed to immunize a rabbit, triggering an antibody response. The serum is subsequently collected from the rabbit to acquire polyclonal antibodies, which are further purified using affinity chromatography. The effectiveness of the CAMTA6 antibody in detecting Arabidopsis thaliana CAMTA6 protein has been validated through ELISA and WB assays.

The Arabidopsis thaliana CAMTA6 acts as a transcription factor, binding to specific DNA sequences in the promoter regions of target genes and either activating or repressing their expression. CAMTA6 is involved in multiple biological processes, including plant growth and development, stress responses, and defense against pathogens. It plays a crucial role in coordinating plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses, such as cold, drought, and pathogen attacks.

Target Background

Function
Transcription activator that binds calmodulin in a calcium-dependent manner in vitro. Binds to the DNA consensus sequence 5'-[ACG]CGCG[GTC]-3'. Regulates transcriptional activity in response to calcium signals (Probable).
Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
Protein Families
CAMTA family
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in roots, stems, leaves, sepals, petals, stamen filaments, top of carpels, anthers and siliques, but not in stigmas.
