Description

To produce the Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 polyclonal antibody, a rabbit is immunized with the recombinant Serratia marcescens Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 protein (19-246aa). The Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 antibody is obtained from the rabbit serum and subsequently purified using protein G. This purified Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 antibody is appropriate for detecting the Serratia marcescens Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 protein in ELISA and WB experiments.

The Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 protein is produced by Serratia marcescens bacteria as a defense mechanism against beta-lactam antibiotics, allowing the bacteria to survive and grow in the presence of these drugs. It is an enzyme that hydrolyzes beta-lactam antibiotics, rendering them ineffective.
