Target Background

Function

Required for mitotic cell growth as well as for spore germination. Functions in cell cycle progression through trafficking of proteins required for mitosis. Has a role in the mRNA export process.

Data show that Uap56p interacts with Rae1p directly via its nuclear export signal, and this interaction is critical for the nuclear export activity of Uap56p as well as for exporting mRNA. PMID: 17449473
