Function

Guanine-nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that acts as an activator of Rop (Rho of plants) GTPases by promoting the exchange of GDP for GTP.

RopGEF2 acted as a negative regulator in phytochrome B (phyB)-mediated red light-induced stomatal opening.RopGEF2 interacted with ROP7 and ROP2 and enhanced their intrinsic nucleotide exchange rates. PMID: 28188273
Disruption of RopGEF2 enhances sensitivity to exogenous ABA in seed germination assays and that RopGEF2pro-GUS is mainly expressed in developing embryos and germinating seeds. PMID: 26461226
