Target Background

Function
Required for normal levels of the cell wall 1,6-beta-glucan. Involved in a protein folding machinery chaperoning proteins acting in various physiological processes including cell wall synthesis and lysis of autophagic bodies. Controls actin cytoskeleton polarization to the mother-bud neck and CLB2 protein stability.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Rot1 needs the transmembrane Ser250 to interact with other membrane components and to exert its functional role. PMID: 24303792
  2. the role of Rot1 as a chaperone required to ensure proper glycosylation is demonstrated in yeast PMID: 22492205
  3. The results show that two regions, amino acids 26-60 and 200-228, are involved in the post-translational translocation of Rot1 across the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. PMID: 20608986
  4. Rot1p participates in protein folding with Kar2p. PMID: 16567426
  5. study revealed a role for Rot1 in cell morphogenesis during cell cycle progression; functional antagonism between Rot1 and Clb2 is supported by genetic and biochemical data, which indicate that Rot1 is implicated in Clb2 protein degradation PMID: 17606994
  6. Characterization of the post-translational modification, transport and membrane topology of Rot1 is reported. PMID: 17914748
  7. is an essential molecular chaperone in the endoplasmic reticulum PMID: 18508919
