Target Background

Function
May regulate MYC transcription factors. Involved in epidermal cell fate specification such as trichome and root hair development, seed mucilage production, and anthocyanin biosynthesis by acting at the dihydroflavonol-4-reductase (DFR) step. Together with GL1 and GL3, promotes trichome formation. Activates the transcription of GL2.
Gene References into Functions
  1. TTG1 is a direct target of FUS3 in the framework of the regulatory hierarchy controlling seed filling. PMID: 26152712
  2. Lateral root following abscisic acid treatment was reduced in ttg1 seedlings and increased in plants overexpressing TTG1. PMID: 23306631
  3. TTG1 trapping by GL3 is based on direct interaction between both proteins and recruitment in the nucleus. PMID: 22028035
  4. TTG1 is involved in the regulation of TT8 expression. PMID: 16709193
  5. This study showed that overexpression of Myb113 or Myb114 results in substantial increases in pigment production, and that pigment production remains TTG1- and bHLH-dependent. PMID: 18036197
  6. Data show that TTG1-bHLH-MYB complex directly regulating activators and repressors and the movement of repressors to affect trichome patterning on the Arabidopsis leaf. PMID: 18434419
  7. the role of TTG1 in Arabidopsis trichome formation PMID: 18547143
  8. phytohormonal control is mediated by transcriptional regulation of the established TTG1 complex and depended on the R2R3-MYBB factor GLABRA1 PMID: 18784284
  9. Although the TTG1-dependent R2R3 MYBs are considered highly pathway specific, identification of MYBs responsible for outer seed coat development allowed for the elucidation of previously undetected novel developmental pleiotropy among these elements. PMID: 18992236
