Description

The TTYH2 polyclonal antibody is obtained by introducing recombinant human TTYH2 protein into a rabbit, which stimulates the production of antibodies that specifically target this antigen. To further enhance antibody production, a booster injection is administered. The resulting TTYH2 polyclonal antibodies in the rabbit's serum are collected and purified using protein A/G. Thorough testing conducted in ELISA and WB assays has validated the TTYH2 antibody's specific ability to recognize human TTYH2 protein. The TTYH2 protein has been implicated in various physiological processes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, and the maintenance of intracellular pH balance.

Target Background

Function
Probable large-conductance Ca(2+)-activated chloride channel. May play a role in Ca(2+) signal transduction. May be involved in cell proliferation and cell aggregation.
Gene References into Functions
  1. TTYH2 gene expression is significantly up-regulated in colon cancer. The TTYH2 gene may play an important role in regulating both proliferating and metastatic potentials of colorectal cancer. PMID: 17569141
  2. N-glycosylation is not the determining factor for TTYH2 trafficking to the plasma membrane. PMID: 18260827
  3. expressed most highly in brain and testis and at lower levels in heart, ovary, spleen, and peripheral blood leukocytes. Expression of this gene is upregulated in 13 of 16 (81%) renal cell carcinoma samples examined PMID: 11597145
Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Protein Families
Tweety family
Tissue Specificity
Expressed at higher level in brain and testis and at lower levels in heart, ovary, spleen and peripheral blood leukocytes. Up-regulated in 13 of 16 renal cell carcinoma samples examined. Up-regulated in colon carcinoma.
