Target Background

Function

DNA-dependent ATPase and 5'-3' DNA helicase. Involved in the repair of replication forks and tolerance of the chain-terminating nucleoside analog 3' azidothymidine (AZT). May unwind potentially damaged 3' nascent ends such as those terminated by AZT, promote repair and AZT excision.

This increased MMS sensitivity was not suppressed by the presence of multi-copy holC. These results indicate that yoaA is involved in MMS sensitivity and suggest that YoaA functions together with HolC. PMID: 27150717
